Frequently Asked Questions Before You Book a Cruise
Can I book directly through Virgin Voyages?
No. LoveLit Cruise is a contracted group sailing. To participate in LoveLit programming, you’ll need to reserve your cabin through our group. If you’re interested in a different cabin category, including suites, our travel team is happy to help.
I’m traveling alone. Will I fit in?
Absolutely! Many LoveLit guests sail solo, and we’ve built plenty of opportunities to connect before and during the sailing. Our event app, online community, and Solo Sailors group make it easy to meet fellow readers before you ever step aboard.
How much of the day is scheduled?
LoveLit is designed to feel like a vacation, not a conference. Programming is thoughtfully spaced throughout the sailing, with lighter schedules on port days so you can book excursions, relax onboard, or simply spend the afternoon reading by the pool.
How do I meet the authors?
Meeting authors happens throughout the week, not just during a signing event. Panels, games, group experiences, meals, and casual time around the ship all create opportunities for genuine conversations.
Do I need a passport for this Virgin Voyages cruise?
U.S. citizens may be able to sail certain Caribbean cruises using other approved travel documents, but a valid passport is strongly recommended. Guests traveling from outside the United States should travel with a valid passport and review current entry requirements before departure.
What isn’t included in my reservation?
Flights, ground transportation, travel insurance, pre/post cruise lodging, shore excursions, spa and salon services, specialty beverages beyond your included bar tab, shopping, and other personal purchases are not included.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Reservation fees are non-refundable, and cancellations after final payment are subject to the terms provided at the time of booking. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to help protect your trip.
What if my travel companion isn’t a reader?
No problem. While you’re attending LoveLit programming, your travel companion can enjoy everything a Virgin Voyages cruise has to offer, including award-winning dining and entertainment, the spa, fitness classes, pools, and shore excursions. Many guests come for the cruise experience just as much as the books.
What should I pack?
Think vacation first, book lover second. Bring comfortable resort wear, outfits for our theme nights, walking shoes for port days, swimwear, and a little extra room in your suitcase for signed books and exclusive LoveLit swag.
