My Dearest Reader, 

If you had told me years ago, while I was working as a pediatric intensive care nurse, that one day I’d be hosting a romance reader convention aboard a cruise ship, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

Looking back, though, it makes more sense than I ever expected! Some of the most meaningful moments in my life have come from caring for people, listening to their stories, and creating spaces where they felt comfortable enough to be themselves. 

Nursing teaches you to notice the details. You learn that the smallest gestures often shape the entire experience, whether that’s remembering someone’s favorite drink, recognizing when they’re feeling overwhelmed, or creating an environment where they can finally relax. Long before I ever planned a reader event, I learned that people remember how you made them feel.

When I began imagining LoveLit Cruise, I wanted to bring that same mindset to every sailing. 

My hope is that every person who steps aboard feels genuinely accepted, as though they’ve been expected all along. I want the solo traveler to feel comfortable walking into dinner, the longtime friends who saved for this trip to feel like it was worth every penny, authors to leave inspired by the readers who have supported them, and readers to discover voices they might never have picked up otherwise.

I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 18 countries and 44 states, and every trip has taught me something about what makes people feel at home, even in completely new places. When I watch people exchange book recommendations over breakfast, make plans for an excursion together, or hug goodbye at the end of the week, I’m reminded that this was always about creating the kind of romantasy travel experience that stays with people.
